Work Pattern: 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation

Role Overview
Pentland Ferries is seeking a qualified and motivated Officer of the Watch to join our Ro-Pax ferry operations in Scotland. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient navigation and operation of our vessels, while delivering the highest standards of safety and service to our passengers and crew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stand bridge watches in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the safe navigation, manoeuvring, and operation of the vessel.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and STCW requirements.
  • Oversee and participate in safety drills, training, and onboard maintenance as required.
  • Assist in supervising crew members to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and uphold the company’s professional standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency.
  • Valid STCW certificates.
  • Valid ENG1 Medical Certificate.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience working on passenger vessels.
  • Additional relevant maritime certificates (e.g., Crowd Management, Passenger Safety, Crisis Management).
